I achieved a first class honours degree in science at The University of Melbourne, which led to working in the field of medical research. Wishing to have more of a clinical involvement led to my studying medicine at The University of Sydney.

After completing medicine I undertook specialist training in obstetrics and gynaecology at Westmead Hospital and later at Royal Prince Alfred Hospital in Sydney, which led to an interest in infertility and reproductive medicine and sub-specialty training was completed at Royal Prince Alfred Hospital and Genea.

During that time a Masters degree was completed in Human Reproduction and Human Genetics. As part of the degree I completed a research project which investigated the role of MTHFR polymorphism on recurrent miscarriage.
